The First
Saturday Programs are shown on the first Saturday of each month
in parish churches or homes to fulfill
Our Lady of Fatima's specific requests.
Words of Our
Lady of Fatima: to Sr. Lucia: "My daughter, look at My Heart
surrounded with the thorns with which ungrateful men pierce it at
every moment with their blasphemies and ingratitude. You, at least,
try to console me, and say that I promise to assist at the hour of
death with all the graces necessary for salvation all those who, on
the first Saturday of five consecutive months, go to Confession and receive
Holy Communion, recite five decades of the Rosary and keep me company
for a quarter of an hour while meditating on the mysteries of the
Rosary, with the intention of making reparation to
me."
Each one hour
program includes a
beautiful, meditative Rosary with 15 extra minutes of pictorial
meditation
on the mysteries, and a reminder to go to Confession. Pope John Paul
II and Blessed Teresa of Calcutta are featured and
a special guest teacher speaks on topics which will increase
devotion to Jesus through Mary, while deepening the participants
knowledge of the truth.

Pope John Paul
II wrote in his book, Crossing the Threshold of Hope: "And
thus we come to May 13, 1981 when I was wounded by gunshots fired in
St. Peter's Square. At first I did not pay attention to the fact
that the assassination attempt occurred on the exact anniversary of
that day that Mary appeared to the three children at Fatima and spoke
to them the words that now, at the end of this century, seem to be
close to their fulfillment."
Our Lady
promised an Era of Peace and that she would assist souls who practice
the First Saturday devotion with the graces necessary for their
salvation at the hour of their death - if they follow the simple plan
she outlined at Fatima (approved apparition of Our Lady of Fatima,
Portugal 1917).
