May we all
be one (cf. Jn.
17:21)
Prayer in
Preparation for the General Assembly
We praise
and thank You, loving Father, for making us Your beloved children. We love
You and desire to please You with all our hearts. Confirm in us a
childlike confidence in Your love, which is infinite, personal, tender,
unconditional and unmerited. Father, may Your love be victorious in us,
that we may abide in You and live for the praise of Your glory. (cf. Jn.
15, Eph. 1)
Please
forgive us Father, for so often not believing in and accepting Your
merciful love.
We bless and
adore You, dear Jesus, for calling us to intimate union with You. Teach
us, loving Savior, to be sensitive and responsive to the movements of Your
Sacred and Eucharistic Heart, and to surrender silently to Your loving
embrace which is sweet, chaste and eternal. Help us to walk as children of
the light, in all goodness, justice and truth. (cf. Eph. 5:8)
Have mercy
on us, Lord Jesus, for the times we have not lived in the truth and have
failed to love and reverence You in our neighbor.
Spirit of
Love and Truth, Who make us one with Jesus and the Father and with one
another, we invite You into our hearts. Take possession of us and heal us.
Grant us Your gifts of wisdom and knowledge; enlighten the eyes of our
hearts that we may know the hope of Your call. (cf. Eph. 1)
Divine
Advocate, forgive us for the times we have lacked the docility and
humility to allow You to guide our lives.
Oh Mary,
Morning Star announcing the dawn of the New Evangelization, thank you for
being our Mother and for helping us to say "yes" to Jesus.
Please share with us your immaculate charity, purity and simplicity, and
keep us always in the refuge of your Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart.
Saint
Joseph, loving Guardian of the Redeemer, intercede for us that we may walk
in a manner worthy of our calling, with humility, meekness and patience,
supporting one another in love, careful to keep the unity of the spirit in
the bond of peace. (cf. Eph. 4)
We entrust
to you, Most Holy Family, this time of transition in the Apostolate for
Family Consecration. Help us to grow in faith and courageously face the
challenges we meet with joy and hope in our hearts. Please guide our
General Assembly, the preparations, participants and the election of the
new president.
May we all
be one and live in communion with the Holy Trinity, the Holy Family and
with one another as brothers and sisters in Christ’s Church, as we seek
to fulfill the mission You have entrusted to us in all compassion,
kindness, forbearance and mutual forgiveness. (cf. Jn. 17, Col.3) May the
Divine Will be perfectly accomplished in us, the entire AFC Family and in
each of God’s children as we offer everything that we are and have all
for the Sacred and Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, all through the Sorrowful
& Immaculate Heart of Mary, all in union with
St. Joseph. Amen.
