A blessed feast of the Nativity of Mary, the Most Holy Name of the Blessed Virgin Mary and The
Exaltation of the Cross for you and your family!

Thanks be to God that we have finished another wonderful summer of serving families and building God’s kingdom! I had many people approach me during the Holy Family Fests just to say ‘thank you’ for all that we do here and all that we provide for families. It could not have been accomplished without the prayers and support of so many of you families. We are all part of the Mystical Body of Christ. What a privilege it is to be servants of the Lord!

Missouri “Mini-Holy Family Fest” a Success!
In August, about 30 families gathered for the Missouri Holy Family Fest at Eagle Hearst Ranch. They enjoyed daily Mass, talks for the teens, kids & adults, campfire rosary, volleyball & square dancing. Our Members were able to share the message of Family Consecration that was the focus of our presentations this summer at Catholic Familyland. Catholic Corps Members, Annie Sarlo & Cate Labish, were in attendance at the mini-fest to help us assess how we can share this message through these remote events. Please keep this endeavor in your prayers as we prepare a team to design and coordinate these remote events. All for the Holy Family!

Renee Scheu’s September 7th Life Commitment

We welcome with great joy the Catholic Corps Life Member Commitment of Renee Scheu! On the 1st Saturday of September, surrounded by over 80 family members, friends and Catholic Corps sisters, Renee committed to poverty, chastity and obedience for life at the service of the Holy Family through the Apostolate for Family Consecration.

Renee’s gift of her life for families enriches all of us as we labor together to consecrate families to the Holy Family and in the Truth.

Historic Hearts United 2013 Eucharistic Rosary Rally for Peace and the Family
This rally, held September 7th in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was truly amazing. 2,300 people came from Florida, Pennsylvania, Texas, Minnesota, Iowa, California, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and throughout Wisconsin. The Apostolate for Family Consecration was represented by Kevin and Julia Blau. The day included the rosary, exposition of the Eucharist, and praise and worship from a local kids group. There were testimonies from people of various walks of life explaining the power of the rosary and the Eucharist. Participants who visited our booth expressed great interest in protecting the family through the Holy Family Enthronement, Family Consecration and Catechesis. There is HOPE!!

Walking the Camino for the AFC

Catholic Corps Members Annie Sarlo and Maggie Zbiegen have been gifted with time-off for a sabbatical-pilgrimage. As an act of prayer, penance and praise, they are walking the Way of St. James from southern France across parts of Spain to the Cathedral of St. James in Compostela (el Camino de Santiago). It will be a trek of 500 miles over a period of about one month. Their motivation is to offer prayer, praise and sacrifice for the AFC, its past, present and future, that they, and all Members of the AFC be further transformed in order to better serve the Holy Family. Please keep them in prayer as they pray for all of us.

Message from Fr Kevin Barrett about his sabbatical
Please give thanks with me to our heavenly Father, to Jesus our beloved Savior, and to the Holy Spirit who is leading me, not to the desert like He did Jesus, but to the mountains of Wyoming for a sabbatical, to be able to take some time apart with the Lord for more prayer, spiritual reading and rest. This will represent another unspeakable grace from the Holy Family offered me through the AFC leadership! I share it with you, in terms of my remembering you in my daily Mass and increased time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament and with Him in His creation. Please pray for me, too, that this will be a fruitful time for me to be renewed to serve you better. I will be away from September 18 to December 18, 2013 and will not be much accessible. Again, thank you for all your love and prayers! Count on mine for you!

Reflections from Our Founders:

God’s Will is there for each of us. If we listen and are watchful and pray, He will show you the way. This is a little book called, “God’s Will: You Can Know It.” And it just says here, “to those who walk in His way today, He will reveal His way tomorrow.” In John chapter 14, the Lord promised to manifest himself to all those who keep His commandments. Proverbs 3: “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy path.   -Gwen Coniker
We’re only here for 50, 60, 70, 80 years, but we’re going to be there in eternity forever. Isn’t it worth making a sacrifice... It’s not really a sacrifice. Asking you to be holy is not a sacrifice, because it’s going to make you happy and give you that union with God.   -
Jerry Coniker

I end with St. Louis de Montfort’s words which tell us that if we are devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary, God will raise us up to be great saints!

“Towards the end of the world, and indeed soon, Almighty God and his holy Mother are to raise up great saints who will surpass in holiness most other saints. They will be exceptionally devoted to the Blessed Virgin. Illumined by her light, strengthened by her food, guided by her spirit, supported by her arm, sheltered under her protection, they will fight with one hand and build with the other.”

Thank you again for your prayers & support!

On behalf of the staff here at Catholic Familyland and United in the Holy Family,
